First, let me just say that I love dogs and they’re beautiful creatures. My favorite breed is Golden Retriever and according to Refinery 29, it means I’m very passionate. My least favorite dog breeds are Chihuahua and bull dogs. Chihuahuas are small, annoying and ugly and bulldogs? They have a permanent sad face and I don’t want to look at that every morning. I want a dog that has a smiling happy face like a Golden Retriever! My personal preference for a pet is a cat. A fluffy white cat those James Bond villains always have on their laps. To me, cats fit my personality the best. They’re low maintenance, not clingy at all and keep to themselves. On the other hand, dogs are the complete opposite. You NEED to pay them attention and you have to walk them out in public with a poop bag. I can’t imagine myself doing that! I mean, let’s say that I have a cute little corgi dog and I’m walking with him with my pretty outfit and then suddenly the dog starts to pee and then stops again and starts to poop. And I’m supposed to clean them up in front of everyone!?! To me, it’s so awkward and embarrassing. I would rather have a pet whose business I can take care of in private. I can’t imagine having a dog in my house either unless I have a big yard and a dog sitter who will take care of the above problem. I don’t want a dog with its dirty paws messing up my couches and the floors. No, thank you. Will I date a guy who has a dog? Yes but only if he accepts full responsibility for his dog. That means, cleaning, feeding, walking, etc has to be his job and he can’t expect me to do them. I’ll never be a dog owner not because I hate dogs but I prefer to be with a quiet animal who I don’t need to put a leash on.
