Good morning! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I was talking to some people the other day and when I mentioned that I read websites like mashable and Techcrunch obssessively, they were surprised. I love reading about gadget reviews and I watch “The Big Bang Theory”…..those nerds dress terribly but they’re so smart! But what I was concerned about that those people that I was talking to know that I’m into fashion so they automatically assume that I’m immuned to anything else. It’s a standard stereotype for fashion bloggers. I mean, just because I’m into fashion, it doesn’t mean that I don’t pay attention to what goes on in the world. What about you? How do you guys deal with those condencending “Oh, you’re a fashion blogger” with a raised eyebrow?
Isn’t this the perfect outfit to wear on a Monday? Those red shoes are so pretty!
Shirts half-tucked in look is so chic right now!
Cute couples who dress alike always makes me smile! How adorable!
One of my favorite outfits that I want to wear to the office. Aren’t those cat slippers so cute? 1. Theory Hessa Cropped Sweater $363.00 (mywardrobe.com) 2. D&G LEATHER CIRCLE SKIRT $932.25 (mywardrobe.com) 3. Mimco Flora Diviner Choker necklace $175.00 (houseoffraser.co.uk) 4.Β Karen Walker Eyewear Soul Club – Orange/Milk $220.00 (Gargyle.com) 5. ChloΓ© βDarlaβ Small Leather Bag $1490.00 (brownfashion.com)6. Hot Pink Bily $365.00 (Tibi.com)
Some of my favorite quotes from Karl and Carine’s interview!
Have a fashionable morning my loves! xoxoxoxoxo

How funny I’ve been wearing my button ups half tucked in, even cut them so they could permanently be like that. Had no idea they’re in right now!
good post, good photos. I love those cat slip ons.

I totally understand what u’re talking about, even if u’re someone that just enjoys fashion, u get that target as if u’re only a superficial person! But nooo, we’re not only about the looks!
Have a nice day! As mine is ending.

Such a cliche to think fashionable folk aren’t interested in other things too. Hope this stereotype changes someday
Love those cute couples!
Digital/technology is my first love – fashion/shopping my second. I get the same reaction but in reverse; people are shocked that I blog about shopping! It’s bizarre that people see in such tunnel vision. These are only two of many realms of passion.
Love the outfit in the 1st shot, especially the red shoes & of course I adore KL xoxo

I absolutely love The Bing Bang Theory, too!
Love the outfit, the red skirt is gorgeous!
Have a great week,hon!
I want to slip into those adorable pink kitty slippers.
I pay attention to a lot aroung the world besides fashion.
Fashion seems so stressless.
Thank you! I like your blog (:
I follow.
Ahhh <3 Elin kling
I have quite similar problem.. People think that if you are cute and stylish then you don’t have any brains. Sometimes I just want to shout the feminists slogan that is very suitable in this case – “stop loving me, but do respect me!”))
love those photos!

LOL. I know how that feels. Folks have such a narrow view of fashion. All I want to say is, if fashion was so simple to figure out, everyone would be so well dressed. You are a well rounded, well read person, and that shows in the wholesomeness of your blog. Take care, and stay gorgeous.
Hi dear
Thanks for your comment
Love every combinations, the second is perfect

Hello my beauty, hope u had great weekend!!! First to tell u I love half tucked shirts as well!;) Secondly I had similar situations like u with those kind of superficial people! One time one guy even told me: “Dear Jelena, u beautiful girl, better take some book to read…” normally referring to my blog passion, and I thanked him cause until then I was considered a geek, nerd (especially in the high school!)!:Dlol Their statements only say that they can not accept other people and their passions cause they’re unable to accept themselves!!
Have a gorgeous day without stress!;) kisses
Just wore the shirt half tucked look yesterday π I’ve actually never encountered “oh you’re a fashion blogger”. Most of my friends have no idea there was a blogging world out there so they’re really interested in the fact that I do it!

I’ve been looking for a mohair sweater! I wish that wasn’t so expensive!
I LOVE MASHABLE! As a matter of fact, that is where I found out about cool apps such as Photobooth, Instagram and other apps that we USE on our Fashion Blogs. HAHAHA I feel people who stereotype fashion blogger are very LIMITED. The readers that I have on my page are accomplished lawyers, science majors, and hold an MBA degree. So you just let people say what they want and continue moving forward. Those kitten loafers are adorable!!! Have a great Monday and I’ve given you an award, so check out my page when you have a chance! ((HUG))

Wow I love that pleated skirt in the very first image! Going to go and hunt for it! Excellent!
I’m not at all surprised. I Read websites like those and Gizmodo all the time. And just like clothes shopping, i often get the URGE to buy new gadgets. There’s a blog called Girl Geek Chic (http://www.girlgeekchic.com/) that you could check out: female blogger reviewing some pretty awesome things!
Enjoyed reading your blog π xx

oh, yeah, I so know what you mean. ufff… in my town people who don’t know me thinks that I go shopping all the time and thats how I spend my days and I’m actually blond, but when they know me better they understand that it’s all wrong. I understand that there are some low IQ people that there is no point to make them think about me different that I sometimes make fun of it and play along with that and afterward I have a laugh about them how close- minded they are.
I so love this monday post, so cute and super stylish. Lately I have this shirt craving and damn’it in our local shops they sell just blouses. And I and my boy so love sometimes wear something similar, there is some charm about it .
I so want those sippers !

Agreed with the whole “stereotyping” thing…a teacher is my first role, but fashion is a close second! When the parents find out that I blog on the side, I feel like they instantly feel I’m not as invested in their kids. Oh well, such is life…apparently many think we can’t have our cake and eat it too!
Thanks for stopping by my blog:)
xx
I definitely feel looked down upon when I mention I am a fashion blogger. It is unfortunate that people assume that if you like fashion you must be shallow and can’t like anything else, but I do enjoy proving them wrong π
great inspirations!!! thanks for sharing π

If anything, you’d think people would get that fashion bloggers are pretty techy too. I mean, we’re on our computers 24/7, are attached to our phones, and are usually pretty handy with cameras too. It would almost be a natural connection, or at least that’s the way I see it. At any rate, I think it’s so much cooler to meet a girl who’s really beautiful and stylish but who has all these unexpected interests…like you!

Typical stereotyping, some people have no idea!!!
On another note, my boyfriend and I sometimes dress alike and we dont even realize it until our friends tell us. π
Great post as always!

I totally agree with you! People think that if you like fashion you wonΒ΄t care about other more “important” things like politics. They are completely wrong!
I so love your pictures, and the working girl outfit is cute!

ahahaha this post mayde me laugh so much!! I couldn’t agree more when it comes to that nerd comment plus the condescending issue! As if being into fashion somehow excludes intelligence….xxxx
Love wearing my shirt like this! Hope you well babe… I saw your comment on my pic with my kitties… I moved last week and this weekend thats why I could not post anything till today. I moved out of my boyfriends flat, thats why I said to you my views on marriage has changed…. xxx
Hi there dear Shin.
I just had a conversation with a sociologist yesterday who was questioning my ‘shallow’ photographic and fashionable taste.
It’s fun cause people are just huge pretenders and often ignorants. Why is a bad theater play or an ugly oil painting more respectful artistic approaches than a fashion creation??
I’m already in my mid thirties and I am not bothered with those silly people anymore. They love to cause the impression that they are interesting, sensitive and awakened but actually they spend all their time with sports, porn and gossip π
No problem, it’s them who miss the fun, cause life, if there are no real problems, should be fun!
xoxoxo
I don’t give a damn, to be totally frank. I work in a totally different field now, but I used to work in fashion, and I know how much effort and dedication it requires, just any other job well done. I’m fed up with all these prejudices and I choose to do what I like and talk about my passions on my blog and if someone judges a fashion blogger only from the perspective of ‘she talks about that because there’s nothing else she can talk about’ then that’s their mistake and loss.
Ada
LOVE. I’m off to read that article, it sounds amazing.
