I think you have a point, it’s indeed a competitive world, but everytime I get a new follower, a nice comment or even a feature, I go on! And I enjoy blogging everyday, sometimes I’m more absent and I actually hate it, but I do it for fun, mostly! for having a voice in the industry I love. an inner voice! 🙂

on another note, LOVED the blue palazzo pants you showed! 🙂

I definitely feel like blogging has gotten more competitive lately, even in my area. All of a sudden everyone’s a blogger and everyone is asking for advice and trying to do more than the other etc.

  6. Bonnie says:

Blogging is totally competitive right now. I devote SO much time to my blog, Twitter, and YouTube that I joke about having a third job. (School being my first job, and my actual job being the second.) It takes a lot of time and effort to get to the top of the blogging community. However, I love blogging. I really, really love blogging, so it doesn’t feel like work to me. I would love to make this a professional career. 🙂

Love the pics! I definitely can relate, blogging is so competitive and sometimes it’s difficult to have the determination to maintain a blog. But i always find something that inspires me, on another blog, in a magazine, on a person on the street or at school. Bright colors, interesting food–the world provides inspiration! I know that’s pretty vast, but when you can think of nothing to post, just look around…Happy May! Also, isn’t it a Sunday?

exactly! i don’t know how others do it! but the pressure is exactly the thing i don’t want to give in to. i want to be able to blog for myself, & not because i need approval of other people. 🙂

I blog for myself. It helps me release alot of inspiration and thoughts and I also love inspiring others. I scribble in endless notebooks aswell 🙂
Blogging has became very competitive though and more like a popularity thing. So has tumblr! Which takes away from what it should be, a place for people to inspire others. Who cares if you have 10 000 + followers or one?

    Lovely post
    xx

  15. Biaa says:

Oh my gosh! These photos are sooo cute! Definitely loving the first, with the HP gang.. are you a fan? I totally am and I can’t wait for the last movie.. but I’m going to be sad once it’s done. I grew up as the books came out.. essentially growing up with the characters 🙁
Anyway, haha, loving those blue palazzo pants. I wish I had a tall, statuesque frame, that I could pull those babies off 😉
I also had a bunch of stuff put aside to donate or get rid of, but now that I’ve gone through everything, I see how much more I had to add to that pile 😛
Have a fantastic Monday, and a great week 😉

  16. hi! good questions about blogging…yah about all that tech saviness..i’m so not the best at that, haha 🙂 happy monday!

  17. I love the blue dress!!
thanks for dropping by..I am a follower..Hopefully some day you’ll follow back too 🙂

  18. For me at least, I put more into my blog at different points in my life. When I feel uncreative or overwhlemed by other things, I try to let myself take some guilt-free time off from blogging. When I am on a roll and love it, it’s easy to put in time everyday. I’m currently going through an insanely busy time in my life so have cut down on my posts, but I honestly just think of giving something to my readers and of thinking about how much I’ve loved and gained from my blog itself and it gets me on the computer 🙂

You re right, the blogging world is very competitive, but we shouldn t think of it as a competition, after
all it s a way to express our hobbies and interests. Actually, I try to motivate myself not to post
several times a day;)) It s a wonderful world, I love it and it brings you many satisfactions and joy. It s true, though, that you must invest a lot of time. But you gain a lot, meeting wonderful people is one of the best things!

  37. Such utterly important questions Shin!

Yep, I am feeling the pushiness in the atmospheres. Yet, I try to stray away from all that competitiveness and surround myself with blogs that lift me up. Give me inspiration. Make my day sweeter.

I regularly look at my blog, congratulate myself and think “it is my work of art. The most important thing I have created”. I feel proud.

Just like I feel proud of blogs of my dear blogging community, you being one of the most important ones!

  38. Susie says:

Hi Shin! My weekend was lovely and yours? I love receiving your messages, always very special! I’ll run up your blog to see new posts! I’m always happy:) I love knowing that we share the same sense of style!
May your Monday is very special! And this month is full of inspirational energy.
True, we have to love so much to do, because when love becomes all so sweet. I can not wait to make a new post, I search for many things always bring a special post. And we put a pressure to make that happen in a perfect manner and that each reader will feel happy to read and this is the most rewarding is not it?

I loved the pictures for inspiration! Made me smile! And then the looks, one more beautiful than the other! And the sentences are very inspiring! I just love everything as always:)
That your day is very sweet!

What a lovely Monday morning post! I love the Harry Potter Cast photos. I agree, its a competitive world out there! The good news is, we can all be successful! If one person succeeds, it doesn’t mean the rest of us have failed. There are millions of people out there who all are looking for something different in a blog. good luck!

hey, thanks for dropping by my blog!

lovely pictures, especially the first & last ones! the last one looks like kind of a mix between The Gap and Anthropologie..

I see what you mean about blogging being pretty tough now that there’s so many of us out there… On the other hand, I don’t really view it as competitive, i like reading lots of blogs, constantly updating my bloglovin etc as my style changes. Also, I see some blogs which may have bombarded people to follow them if the favour was done in return (i think this is reasonable if you both have similar style, but sometimes it’s just for numbers!) -sometimes this has little effect however, as some blogs have hundreds & hundreds of followers, but very few comments ie people aren’t actually interested in coming back & reading the blog regularly. I much prefer comments than loads of followers as they are more personal 🙂

Hello there sweetie, you always amaze me with your posts! Well of course I feel the pressure and it makes me feel a lil’ bit unsafe cuz I have been very busy and I have to give the exams on June of this year which are really important to me and it looks like I don’t have time for blogging and like my posts are good enough. It takes time and creativity as you sad to make a post and I don’t have that time! But still I try my best, even though sometimes I know I can do better!

  48. Hello! What a great post you’ve just written, love the pics as well! Well, I think that it was much more easier to blog 3 or 4 years ago… But it’s becoming much more interesting to discover others blogs, personalities and influences. So even if I’m feeling down sometimes and see something new, or read a new comment then I forget instantly the bad mood!
I wish it could be a real job because it costs me a lot of energy!
    Have a wonderful day, you’ve made mine : )

It’s true what you say about blogging, there are so many amazing blogs with excellent photos, design and production that I feel a bit intimidated sometimes but I do it for pleasure so I always try to keep in mind that’s not an obligation and it has to be something that I enjoy doing. I really like posting and improving my blog but it’s not my number one priority right now and I wish I had more time left to make it better but in the mean time I try to do my best and little by little create a better page and a place that reflects who I am.

..oooh my , I saw and fall in love for that 3rd dress from Guess ..awwww ..

..I think succesful blogs do take a lot of time , as for example if it’s outfit post blog you lways need the other person for taking pictures …and this is where I am strugglin ..even thought I dont have a lot followers I still enjoy every single one who likes what I do 🙂

have wonderful start for this month 🙂

  55. lea says:

Well, I blog when I have time for it… And sometimes maybe I write many posts at once, I write them and then one day when I cant manage to blog, I publish the posts I made a few days earlier, so I dont have to write posts EVERY day … Then I always have a pair of back-up plans. The posts may not always be so good, but the key is actually the big picture, all posts must not be of the highest class, they just need to be interesting and I think one should post at least one new every day …

My blog is pretty small, but when I had a pretty big blog (in Sweden that is) I always did like this or else I would write about something I’ve seen in a newspaper and then told me my opinion on it. That always works =)

  56. Hello Hello!! My weekend was good and yours ??

  59. Hi sweet beautiful friend! I know what you mean about blogging, and I’m sure that offering sponsors would add even more pressure. Do you have sponsors? For me, I decided that I would add a new post once a week. There was a time last summer when keeping up with blogging was overwhelming, but this new method has worked beautifully for me! It gives me plenty of time to put together a post to my satisfaction and to visit my followers/commenters/friends/favorite blogs. I can’t imagine blogging every day, but I do know that I love those who do! It provides something to look forward to with some of my favorite blogs! However for me, I had to realize what I can handle and so I consistently stick with that plan. Whatever you do, please don’t ever stop blogging! I adore ADORE visiting you, one of my favorite blogs!! I find such joy and inspiration here, and you are one of the most uplifting & sweet people I know! 🙂

I love that Harry Potter photo, the Chris Craymer photo, and the Guess dresses! I also love your office look, it is PERFECT! Much love and have a great Monday! xoxo

Of all months I may say that May is my favourite! Nature is so beautiful in May and weather is great. Of course it depends on which country someone is but more or less May is everywhere good.
I always love your posts as I see there is always thinking and research done before publishing and it makes me think that you respect your followers by giving them something nice to see.
For example, I love that look with the BCBGeneration Cropped Striped Pants and the strapy sandals.

  67. Aprilia Love says:

Hey lovely girl! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving some love – I really adore reading new comments <3
As for finding motivation to blog, I actually do it for self enjoyment. To me, my blog is like a little online diary that I can keep and look back on in the future as well as a 'me' space. It's something that I enjoy doing and sharing with those who are interested in reading it.
Even if nobody read my blog, I would still do it! 🙂

  74. Becca says:

I definitely feel like there is a lot of pressure some days. But when I step back, I’ve created all of it. I think the blog world will understand if I need to take a day off from posting, or if I’m not feeling inspired. When it comes down to it, the blog is not (nor will it ever be, in all liklihood) my main source of income. I do it because I love it, it fulfills me creatively, and because it allows me to meet wonderful people. It’s should be a pleasure, not a competition.

  75. Englishvers says:

I don’t find blogging competitive – perhaps because I have a personal blog which is not a money making venture. I blog once a week, and that’s a pace I’m happy with. I adore blog that inspire thought, blogs with an individual voice and most importantly blogs that are creative. xx

  76. Sarah says:
