It’s not easy living in Hawaii because we have the craziest weather (I’d like to think so!). Imagine walking down the street and you see the sun is shining and all of a sudden, the downpour comes and you look up and the sun is still shining like it’s nobody’s business! And the wind almost knock you down while you’re trying to figure out what to do. See? Three things happening at the same time! Rain, Wind and sun! That’s Hawaii for you!
But it’s almost always warm outside so I usually dress in light layers. Here are some of my inspirations….
I love how the skirt is blowing in the wind!
These three ladies are so smart! The first one knotted her maxi dress at the bottom to show her shoes and the second one makes the night slip dress looks sexy for daytime and the third one makes it appropriate to wear it for the office by pairing it with the jacket. Genius!

One minute, it can be one thing… and then the next, it decides to pull a complete 180 and starts doing something else. haha
Sounds a bit like the weather in Ireland. I have been looking after my uncles kids the past few weeks and I have literally had to bring a change of clothes each day for myself and my daughter, in case the sun came out or it started to rain. Crazy! Absolutely loving the pleated skirts and sheer blouses, seperately together, Amazing. Definitely want to invest in some more pleated maxi skirts myself. Mae xxx

First off, I absolutely loooooooove Hawaii. I vacationed there a couple of years ago, and it is a dreamy destination (though I do know what you mean about the sudden downpour). I live in Florida and it is hot and humid. During the summer it rains a lot; many days are overcast with thunderstorms. I would greatly trade spots with you. =)
I’m so lovin’ beautiful maxi skirts right now (been drooling over a couple), and I’m seriously obsessed with Equipment shirts (I could have a closet full of them). I also like when either the skirt or shirt is knotted in this particular look. It’s just such a chic, casual look. =)

i love easy breezy pieces too, we’ve been having similar crazy weather here in ohio (minus the insane wind). maxi skirts and dresses and sheer blouses are my staples for keeping cool in the summer heat. i love the outfits you show with the maxis, i’m always looking for more ways to style them. and that stylestalker skirt is incredible!! <3shelby

I spend a lot of time in Maui and yes, as much as I like to complain about Vancouver weather it’s even more crazy in Hawaii! You’re right though, light layers that can get thrown on and off (and hung up to dry if needed) are definitely the way to go! hope you’re having a great Wednesday my love!
