The best part of the movie “UP” is in the beginning when Carl and Ellie met and how much they love each other truly and completely. What I love the most is that even though their personalities are at odds, they complement each other and had a mostly happy life together. Picnics, driving together, and having an adventure. I like both characters because my personality is a little bit of both. Sometimes I can be like Carl and don’t say much; sometimes I’m like Ellie, opitmistic and excited about everything. One of my favorite scenes is where they show Ellie putting different ties on Carl day after day, day after day and then playfully kiss him at the end. They symbolize what I believe in and what I wish to have in my life, someday.

I guess the overall moral about going up and away should indeed be the moral to everyone. Up in your dreams, up in love and up in life.

Up is such a great movie. I think I teared up in the beginning during their love story. The last pic is too cute.
Have you ever gone blonde? I've never gone completely blonde – just really heavy blonde highlights (with dark underneath). If you've never gone that light before maybe try to ease into it by dying your hair a golden – light brown or do light brown highlights to see how you'll like them first. I say go for it. It's always fun to change up your hair color and I think it would suit you well! π
xoxo, becs

Oh my goodness, I loved that movie UP! I totally cried when the wife dies π So sad! But then it gets happy again π
I loved that part of the movie as well! It almost made me cry, especially when you realize that she ends up getting sick :/ But it's such a candid and genuine portrayal of a lifelong love.

I still haven't seen it! Need to get on that, wonderful photos. Is that quote from the film or A Million Little Pieces? Because that book was just amazing, horrible & beautiful. I don't remember that quote but I haven't read in a while. Wow.
Great post! x

oh i HEART carl and ellie! i think we all aspire to be like them! π i cried a little watching it, especially the last bit with the house. another cool post! π
I heard from Sarah Silverman that it was far more depressing than Precious since it was too much of a depressing thought to lose someone you really love and be reminded of your finite life, unlike Precious which still seemed to highlight some hope despite the foreboding death. Don't you guys agree?

Oh my gosh, the first five minutes of Up make me cry like a little girl. Then as soon as Dug comes onto the screen, I cry with laughter. Carl and Ellie have such a sweet relationship. And they remind me of my grandparents. Weirdly, I went to see Up with my parents and brother the day before the anniversary of my grandma's death. Poignant.
