As you all know, fashion is returning back to minimalism, a trend championed by Phobe Philo and followed by collections from Stella McCartney, BCBG, Jill Sander, Gucci and Balenciaga. Personally, I love this trend since I’m a fan of unfussy, effortless, toned-down style with pops of color or unusual accessories thrown in.
BCBG Spring 2011 looks. Stella McCartney spring 2011 looks.
I always love simple style with something unusual thrown in. I think sometimes accessories can make an outfit. I think simple, well cut clothes are great when worn with something unexpected, like a print or a bright colour! http://haveyoueverfalleninlove.blogspot.com/
The Balenciaga shoes are cute. I ifnd minimalism is really interesting and cool, btu soemtimes minimalism is used by the designer to hide their insignificance conceptual ideas. However in the case pof the designer you spoke about (Raf Simons for sander, Giannini for Gucci, sometimes McCartney, Ghesquiere for Balenciaga and Azria for hi three lines too) I lvoe thei minimalistic style!
I love minimalism. When you cut down to the basics (simple lines, less layering) it gives a more masculine look. And there is nothing more feminine than a woman wearing a masculine look. And someone once said “Perfection is not achieved when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” That said I am not chasing after perfection and I also love elaborate clothing as well. Just that I am very much into minimalism 🙂
HUGE fan! Especially love the Chloe stuff – minimalistic doesn’t have to be boring! In fact, it’s the perfect trend for fuss-free elegance 🙂 love it, happy to see a return to simple and elegant dressing.

well, I must say that I like minimalism. It’s just that so many people don’t understand that it’s more than wearing jeans and a t shirt. O, so nice that you checked her out, glad you liked it! I think I’m going to borrow some of the clothes and have a little photoshoot! And thanks so much for your comforting comment, I’m starting to feel better! have a nice day!
I quite like the minimalist look, as I usuallly like the clothing to speak for itself (either that or wear tons of jewellery!). and god.. love those balenciaga heels… they’re so gorgeous x
Some of these designs are beautiful. It’s fun to embrace the minimalist look every once in a while. The more minimal, the more room you have for statement pieces to stand out.
Very sweet of you to say that! I like how you show us new catwalklooks, i’m definitely ready for spring! Even though it’s still winter haha. The first few looks are so effortless but chic, very nice xoxoxo bloggingsophie
I’m not a minimalist by nature but I do really love it and I think it’s important to know how to do minimalism well…it’s such a striking and chic look. I love the selection you picked! Thanks again for your sweet comment, today is the first day I’m feeling a lot better and I’m hopeful that it will heal up well! It is terrifying though isn’t it? Especially because I am such a dog person and would never think to be scared of them. Oh well, I guess at the end of the day it will be a “funny” NYE story lol.
hi darling. im good thank you – how are you?
i so appreciate you stopping by me,adore the comments 😉
this is such a nice post dear. i gotta say i like the thought of minimalism, but i don’t usually go for it myself..i love prints and bright colors. and ruffles and things like that. but i wish i could be more into minimalistic pieces, because somehow they’re a lot more timeless, and it feels like it’s something you’ll be wearing for years.. going to the stores tomorrow- maybe im gonna find me a more minimalistic piece 😉
hope you’re having a good week
xx
I am a fan of lots of things, somedays minimalism, and other days I’m a fan of the opposite. I think that we change everyday.
I love the Gucci colection, maybe because es minimalistic but colorfull at the same time (perfect for me 🙂
I love minimalism, especially this new kind of minimalism that we’re seeing this season. It’s a minimalism that has much more attention to detail, while at the same time still remaining minimal. It’s a minimalism that takes into consideration texture, colour, fabric, and structure. An obvious “Yay” from me!

i personally love it. minimalist just show your true underlying beauty
Simple, yet “sharp” is almost always the most attractive look for a woman in my opinion.

I like minimalistic collections, though I don’t like so much such bright colours. Nice choices, by the way.

I love Spring Fashion. It is fun to see pops of color after a dark winter! But I do love AW fashion as well! Happy New Year! Siri
Personally, simple is always the way to go. You can always glam it up with accessories.
