I went grocery shopping yesterday and I noticed that most people are either in tank tops and shorts or in sweatpants with flip flops. I think being in comfortable clothing is important when you’re going from isle to isle picking out frozen foods, grabbing fruits and vegetables and waiting in long lines. So usually, I like to wear a dress with flats or loose tops with denim shorts. But I do like to look put together when I go out, even just to grab a coffee. Who knows? You might run into a cute stranger 🙂

I LOVE that first picture!! So cute. I know what you mean. My boyfriend always gets upset when we decide to run to the grocery store and I have to get half-way made up. He doesn’t understand that I might run into someone (almost every time) and I don’t want them to see me looking like I just woke up. I used to work in a salon so if clients saw me looking like a mess that was the worst.
I love pics in supermarket…but I usually wear easy clothes when I go to the grocery 🙂

It depends really, when I’m lazy I will dress up in a shirt, sweatpants and in flipflops.
Orrrrr when not so lazy: something basic mix classy/girly 🙂

I love go to shopping in summer (also because in the shop the air is very very fresh :D) wearing long and fresh dress with slipper, a hat very large and a big bag for my cool water! In summer I like to wear brown color but also my clothes are very colorful and white!

I totally agree, you can be comfy and still look good, as dita von teese said “there is so such thing as an ugly woman, only a lazy one” (actually I’m pretty sure she was re-quoting someone else…)
PS. My new camera is a Canon 40D. It seems pretty good so far, now I just need a photographer bf 😛

The Cacharel shorts are absolutely stunning!!! Really lovely!(((: Right now; I usually do my groceries shopping after school; so no; definitely not in the sweatpants/flip flops category; THOUGH; on some days; a cute stranger would catch me in a basic tee; denim shorts and flip flops; in any case; I’ll definitely compensate with a huge smile!;p
I don’t dress differently but I always like to leave the house looking somewhat somewhat decent.

Great post! When I go grocery shopping I kind of like to look like copy private looks of celebreties like Ashley Tisdale. Don’t know why.. And wearing high heels and xxl shades to the grocery store gives you a glamorous feeling 🙂

Hahaha, that’s my philosophy on dressing as well. Even when I’m just heading out the door for little errands, I try to look at least somewhat put together. I think it’s a kind of bygone nicety that people should care about more…it’s polite! Lovely post as usual 🙂

I definitely look put together because noooo one goes out in pj’s in switzerland! or probably most of europe! i was really noticing that when i went back to the states and it was just crazy.

I totally agree with you, grocery shopping asks for comfort, but when going out to get something, why not wear something more put together? After all, at least it makes me feel better and nicer 🙂

I love the parade of grocery store browsing fashion! I usually wear whatever it is I came home from work in to the store, it’s on my way 😉 There is something romantic about leisurely browsing the grocery aisles…am I crazy? Especially on a sunday, that’s when you have enough time to relax and oogle at all the food choices 😉
I wish I looked as good as the first picture when running errands! While I try to be put together as you never know who you’ll run into, I could always work a little harder.
The girl in blue and white looks so relaxed in the supermarket. I wish I looked like that when I go shopping. Sadly I don’t!

OH! I got the same blue shorts as your Cachrel ones here… (same style, but in different colour). I got it in Club Monaco. When I go to get groceries… usually in jeans and hoodie… anything that does require too much “upkeep” as I will be lugging quite a few bags from the supermarket each time!! :p

I so so so agree! I always love getting a bit dressed up, even for grocery shopping. Besides, I never feel comfortable in sweats and a t-shirt, even though they are considered “comfortable” clothes. How can you feel comfortable when you feel like a slob? Ha, just sayin’. : P

I agree, most times in grocery stores, people are in sweats, or other easy, comfortable clothing. I am all for comfort (and sweats haha) but I also agree that you should look your best (or somewhat nice haha) when going out. Even for 5 mins; you never know who you will meet!
