Snow Day…Snow Day….

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Being in Hawaii means I don’t get to see snow every December and sometimes I wish I could see snow flakes outside my window and fantasize about making snowangels. I suppose I should feel lucky to wear shorts in winter but I actually want to be iceskating outside in layers of sweaters and cute gloves. What about you? Is it already snowing where you live or do you wish you could be somewhere tropical during Christmas?

Hope you’re having a wonderful Monday, snow, rain or shine! 🙂 xoxoxoxoxooxoxoo

  1. Let’s just say that where I’m from nobody is wearing pantyhose like the girls in your pics. Snow is charming… for the first day. I wear a snowsuit to walk to school and wear dresses underneath while I carry my heels in my purse. Gotta do watcha gotta do.

Good morning 🙂 living in Hawaii must be amazing! I am from Barcelona, Spain. Where there is cold winter but snow more on the mountains than in my city. But currently I’m living in Rotterdam, Holland. And here is much colder than Spain. We have everything iced already and with minus diegrees 🙁 not so nice!!!

    have a fun monday 🙂

  3. These snow angels are beautiful! In paris, sometimes it snows, but not enough! I would like it snows as much as in the mountains and in the winter sports, because I love skiing so much! But i know it would be impossible in Paris… Ok, I’m dreaming…a lot… ^^

It doesn’t feel like Christmas if there is no snow. Although I love summer and I would love it to have warm days all year round, a white Christmas is just too romantic and beautiful and I can’t wait for the first snow flakes. 🙂 Great pics!

Hi Fashion Cappucino! I wish its snowing here in Spore too! I envy those who get to wear layers of clothes, get to go ice skating, and make snow angel on the snow! argh! just by talking about it make me feel like going somewhere where they have snow in December.lol!

I wish I could skip winter and go to a tropical place. Here in Holland it snowed just one day, but it’s still very cold outside! To me, snow is good for like a week and after that it gets annoying!

I’m one of those say “you’re lucky to wear shorts all year”!
But I have to say also that snow is beautiful, it gave a right “christmas-winter mood”

  11. I cannot hope to see snow, living in Mumbai. But I hope to, some day. It makes the world look so magical! Hope you too are having a great Monday!

  12. I guess, people just want always those things, which they currently can`t have. That is just the natural way of human beings. But you are right, for me, Christmas must have snow, ice and cold weather conditions.

I’m in England, and honestly the idea of snow is always so much prettier and more romantic than when it actually comes – don’t know about you but I always forget just HOW cold it is!

Still I wouldn’t have it any other way, since it really does make it feel like Christmas! Ooh I’m so excited 🙂 Lovely pics.

  21. I’m actually wishing snow came my way already too! Although at least you don’t have to deal with the gray/black slush it turns into after awhile haha.

    cool photos!!
yesterday here in italy it snowed a bit:)
    enjoy your monday!

  23. Believe me Shin, winter isn’t that beautiful nor is it fun to do snowangles, it’s cold and wet and a bit irritating due to the fact that you are wear layers of sweaters. As you can hear snow and winter is nothing for me.. although every year we are vacationing in Thailand at this time of year, so it’s getting pretty tropical after all! (= I had no idea you lived with your parents, had never imagined. have the best Monday! xox

  24. Beverley says:

i’ve never had a snow day either, but i’ve had a white Christmas! it’s always a nice treat. it’s pretty sunny over here (in California) too, but still cold!!

  25. Ariel says:

Cold, wet, dreary snow makes for excellent opportunities to experiment with layering (as look as you have some warm, comfy boots). Love the pics!

  28. Today it does look as in your pic… The Eiffel Tower is covered with snow! It fell upon last night. I love the tropics… for sweet dresses and yummy coconut cocktails. I also love the chilly temps… for hot coffee and mulled wine steaming as you… skate! I used to compete in skating. Still love it so!

  29. :) says:

Snow is amazing when it’s deep and really white, perfect for snowball fights and snow angels.
it’s also great when it stops buses working and you get sent home 😀
today i’ve had a snow day, went it this morning and was sent straight home 😀 WE LOVE SNOW!
however, sometimes it’s just too cold, and when it gets dirrty..yuck.
and when snows becomes ice thats horrible too 🙁 or when it causes cold winds too.
however christmas wouldnt be christmas if it wasn’t winter. 🙂

  35. Sue says:

I love the snow, but I don’t like freezing days like today in Madrid.
It was really really cold, with a mixture of rain
    and snow.

My favourite seasons are autumn and spring!

  37. Awww these lovely photos of the snow are actually making me look forward to the snow heading my way here in Missouri. 🙂 But mostly, I really don’t like snow during the winter. Mostly because it makes driving a nightmare and I hate cold weather. Sigh. I do wish I lived someplace tropical. Hehe.

  38. I couldn’t agree more! Today it was burning hot outside in Florida! Seeing everyones photos with snow makes me so sad!

  39. Annika says:

Having spent all my christmases in Finland I probably wouldn’t realise it’s christmas if there was no snow… 😀 It was so weird to live in England last year with so little snow, now looking forward to see how the December will be in Paris. 🙂

They always show girls in tights in winter ads. Tights are fine at the beginning of Fall, but after that you have to have a death wish to wear them Especially in NYC. It is frigid here in the winter! It hasn’t gotten too cold yet, but it will and I will be wishing I was in Hawaii with you chilling on the beach.

  43. angela says:

I lived all my life in an island where is always spring and summer. So imagine….
I saw the snow for the very first time last year while I was living in New York, and I think it is the most beautiful thing I´ve ever seen…
Now in Barcelona is still pretty cold…
Anyway I spend the christmas holidays back in my island so no white christmas at all…lol
    beautiful pictures!

I guess I have the best of both worlds. I live in Boston so we have plenty of snow, but my family is down in Florida so I get to enjoy tropical holidays. It always feels a bit weird to have Thanksgiving in shorts, but it’s a nice break from Boston weather.

  45. jess says:

I had gotten so much snow last year. It is very pretty though.

  46. Purdey Singleton says:

I love these pictures they are gorgeous, I’ve just had to walk home in a snow storm so I’d happily swap your sun for my snow for a couple of days but I know what you mean, snuggling up in layers in winter is fun x

Great Pic’s…Love the green faux fur gilet. Hmm winter in shorts still sounds pretty sweet, but I know Snow is nice for xmas. I’m living in Toronto & so far not a flake of snow has fallen, but home is Ireland & at the moment they have a few inches….Hopefully there will still be some about when I visit home for xmas x

  48. Stylista says:

Funny how you’d love some snow, whereas I’m over here wishing it would go away! Snow does horrors to your shoes. Loving the green fur btw!

  52. Kara says:

I am somewhere tropical for the holidays, I don’t think I’ve ever traveled somewhere with snow for Christmas 🙁 but I’d like to! It is weird celebrating without an actual winter, but that’s why there’s movies!!! I wish it was me in that second pic.. looks fun.
