I have a completely fashion-unrelated question. Do you guys make eye contact with people when you’re walking? Or do you just listen to your music and zone out? I never make eye contact with anyone because I’m usually thinking about something and I like to walk really fast. Also, I hate it when people, especially guys, who just stare at you up and down while they’re walking towards you. To me, it’s just so rude. I mean, I check out people as well but I do it discreetly and not in their face.

I never make eyecontact with people on the streets, since I’m too busy listening to music and thinking about other things. My friends always think I ignore them when they see me, since I just pass them by without noticing 😛

For your walking/eye contact question, it really depends. Normally I just zone out with my iPod, but if I see someone I know I’m obviously going to make eye contact and say hello 😛 Walking tends to be my only “me” time during the day where I’m not bogged down doing anything else, so I use it as a kind of meditation.
As for the clothes, I adore that contrast blouse by ASOS and that black dress with the train (I’m clearly having a thing for fish tail shirts/dresses at the moment).

I tend not to make eye contact either but if i see another woman who looks nice and i like her outfit i always smile or someone with a dog usually at the dog – and i hate men who stare and women who give you really horrid looks – just very rude indeed! HAHA. Occasionally I make eye contact with people, but I usually just carry on listening to my music. In fact, I don’t think I can really function without my iPod when walking. 😛 But yes, it also peeves me when people make it obvious when they’re looking you up and down…judging. Gosh do it discreetly!! haha
Anyways…those outfits are really cute! I too, wish my closet carried items as such. I’m especially liking sheer button up tops right now.
In NY, everyone tries to avoid eye contact, but occassionally there is a creeper that doesn’t stop staring. At that point, I stare back and ask him what he needs. Usually that works and he stop staring!
I don’t like to make eye contact with people when I am walking because I am afraid that it will draw creepers to me. I’m kind of a creeper magnet. They like me. So I don’t look anyone. Unless I have to. But that’s weird.
So, no. I don’t.

Well, I do both. But I never look at girls the way that makes them feel uncomfortable. If it is an eye contact it’s a quick one and mostly unintended. My first look, since I was a teenager goes to the girl’s shoes 🙂 honestly, so I often loose the eyes haha. I know what you mean though, no I don’t stare at girls or strangers.
I’m a photographer after all, I’m used to avoid being seen or caught haha paparazzi haha.

As a male fashionista I have found myself in numerous unpleasant situations-people stare, people talk…while they are looking like shi* so I learned how to blank out people or to ignore and never make eye contact! I’m like you…rather thinking of clothes!

Hi! Ahaha curious question, I often look at people’s eyes while I’m walking, but not from head to toes (except if I like what he or she is wearing) and if they look myself back I suddenly and quickly move my eyes looking at the floor ahaha

I like to look where I am going, so I don’t really look at anyone directly in the eyes. Lol. I do like wearing sunglasses whilst walking to avoid any awkwardness – and you can always see if other people are looking at you, sneakily!

I wouldn’t fret. I mean they could just be checking out your outfit and thinking “Whoa, style. inspiration. !!” Just kidding hehe; I usually make a little eye contact, but if they don’t look back, I zone out immediately haha. I was always told smiling at someone causes a chain reaction of smiles (somehow Nickelodeon teachings always subconsciously stick with me!)

Posted on I recently had a caitfrng nightmare where after I totally ruined the object (one of those cute petal backpacks) and wasted an hour and a half of my time, I walked around whining (albeit a little put on ) like a 2 year old. I think if you were to take a sharpie and give him pupils for his eyes, he will endear himself to you a bit more.And maybe attach a bug on a piece of elastic to whack him in his funny mouth. He sort of grows on you, though. ;P

I totally agree with you! When I’m alone I also walk really fast and normally I don’t make eye contact or if I do I do it discreetly. I don’t like when people stare at us up and down, it’s a little uncomfortable.

I do make eye contact on the street sometimes and always when I talk to people! But I hate indeed when people in a rude way are staring at me on the tube/train/bus it makes me feel like there is something wrong with my make up or i’ve something on my face! regarding your post i loooove the blouses and i want them all! and i can’t find them on asos:( love xoxox

That dress in the top center is amazing! Absolutely love it, I wish it was in my closet too. I usually smile and say hi if I’m running in the trails near my house but otherwise no…and yes I totally hate when guys just blatantly check out! that second look is just amazing! and about the eye-contact on the street, i try to avoid it, but sometimes you are both looking up at each other on the same moment, and it always feels kinda weird. unless I am in a small village, then I walk around greeting every stranger that I pass by. never thought about it though 🙂

I decided to comment on this post because for me the problem of eye contact is very actual! haha, I really think that it’s a problem, I always think about my dreams, plans, listen to music, etc., and when I see that somebody is staring at me I start to blush/feel embarrassed/nervous. I think it’s not normal actually..I would love to change it…because when I see a handsome guy, this problem worsens!
